You will be picked up from your hotel in Marrakech and accompanied by a mountain guide, travel in a private car through gorges and high mountain passes to the Berber village of Imlil (1740m). Imlil is set in the upper level foothills of the Western High Atlas mountains. Here you will start your journey on foot for about 4km up to the Berber village of Aroumd and the hamlets of Taourirt, Targa, and Imoula. You shall stop at Aroumd to visit this rather singular village in the Assif Aït Mizane Valley. Proceed a further distance of 8 km to the village of Sidi Chamharouch. You will then take a break to enjoy a picnic lunch in a spot from where you can get an excellent view of the mighty Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in the Maghreb. Later, set off for the Toubkal Refuge for dinner, and spend the night there. The Toubkal Refuge camp is a comfortable place offering modern amenities.

Then descend down zigzagging trails around granite and basalt grey rocks for about 8km to a remarkable village of Aroumd, commanding one of the more fertile valleys of the High Atlas mountains with terraced, irrigated plots and fields of maize, onions and fruit trees on all sides. Stop for a picnic prior to continuing on along the floor of the valley to the Berber village of Imlil. Enjoy mint tea in the home of senior guide Mohammed Aït Idar.
